Too Much Rock for One Hand

the Original Too Much Rock for One Hand

One of Milwaukee's very first non-smoking bars, Cafe Brücke, is now for sale. Owners, Jerry Patzwald and Kristine Lorch, attribute personal and family (Patzwald's mother has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease) issues in their decision to stop pouring some of Germany's finest beers, and serving some of the east side's tastiest gnoshables.

For 5 years Cafe Brücke has been one of the few, pioneering smoke-free establishments in Milwaukee, leading the clean-air charge for patrons and workers. By their example, Cafe Brücke's competitive advantage proved to Milwaukeeans that having a cocktail doesn't mean suffering someone's addiction or risking your health.

In the meantime, it's business as usual for the dynamic duo. The doors are open. Stop in and wish them well as they readjust and create a new normal for their family. cafebrucke.com

That's too bad. I loved going there. There beer really is tasty and I used to listen to some fine musicians play. I remember a harp player that had a weekly spot. Good times.
